Van deadlocks are still the most common lock fitted to vans today. They operate by rotating the high security key in the cylinder which throws over the deadbolt, which adds an additional high security locking point to the van door.
Sometimes referred to as an overnight lock, they can either be left locked or unlocked as the driver wishes, for example they can leave them unlocked and use the factory remote locking system during the day and then add the additional layer of deadlock security overnight or when they feel that the van is in a particularly vulnerable place.
As well as offering the additional physical protection that today’s tradesmen need to secure their vans, van deadlocks also offer a visual deterrent to would be opportunists that are looking for a quick win.
All of our Deadlok® van deadlock kits are supplied keyed alike with a set of 3 keys and all of the fixtures and fittings needed to provide a quality installation. This includes stainless steel strike plates and brackets.
Some of our customers have been asking us about deadlocks with a hook type bolt they operate exactly the same as a deadlock but instead of a bolt coming straight out into the door pillar they swing round and actually hook into the post giving additional protection against thieves trying to prise apart the door from the pillar.
